P.O.P.

4 Bobbins of wool, ready to ply.

Starting to see growth on my pepper plant.

Not sure if there are buds, or new leaves on my beans, but it is showing progress.
CamoKitty!  She believes the weeds will hid her.  Especially when there are birds around.

My weekend

It has been a productive weekend. I need to post another POP post. I've found buds on my pepper plant and new growth on my bean plants.

Fiber:

All of the black Icelandic has been spun and plied.

The Magnify, clue 1 is finished. Pictures to come soon, as they are not showing up on the iPad from the iPhone.

Food preservation:

I finished the back episodes of Canning Season. While listening, I got thinking about jellies. I needed apple juice (apple cider) for Slow Cook Friday, so why not use it for jelly too? Now that I know what I didn't do with my last batch, and this time added plenty of pectin. So I have 3 half pints of Apple Cider Cinnamon Jelly.

Slow Cooking:

I tried a banana loaf recipe from GetCrocked. My loaf pan is a little too wide and sat too high in the crock pot, so it is a little undercooked in spots. I need a new pan and try again.

P.O.P.

P.O.P. (Pictures On the Patio)

This plant grows wild at my house.  It is a desert plant, but I do not know what it is.  (Update:  It is a Mexican Bird of Paradise.  Thanks Kim.)
This is a Anaheim Pepper plant and my pea plant.  The pea plant came from one of the science rooms at work.  I've had to put sticks for it to climb on, otherwise it want to climb up my pepper plant.
This is a bean plant, also from work, and a peppermint plant.

More beans.
And another bean.  This is the strongest of the batch.
My Blueberry shrub.  I'm starting to see berries.  Some of the bean plants are looking a little wilted.  I'm hoping they come back once we get more sun and warmth.  It got cold a couple days ago and upset a couple of the plants.  What is cold?  It dropped into the low 40s, and maybe a couple degrees below that.  I had a light frost on the roof of my SUV.
Don't forget about ME on my box.
Yarn!  I got a mystery package of yarn today.

Slow Cook Friday!

Pork roast is on special this week at the store, so:

Slow Cooker Pork Roast with Apples

I used 3 different kinds of apples, cored and cut into eighths.  I'm not sure I will shred it tonight or put it on potatoes.

My Magnify is on the 4th of 5 repeats.  I should have a picture of the full clue 1 this weekend.

 -----

I looked at my mini garden, and now I do need to get pictures.  It was cold yesterday, so a couple plants were looking a little wilted.  I hope to find them happy today with warmer weather.

Magnify, First Repeat.

Here is my project after one repeat.  The beads are looking nice in the project.

I haven't posted what I started with.  The yarn came from a fun shop called Gypsy Wools,  located in Boulder, CO.  It is Kona, a Superwash Merino wool, called Double Dye.  It is named that, because it was dyed twice.  If you don't like it the first time, dye again.

Yes, I am having fun.  It tool a couple of tries to get the first couple of bead rows right, but once I got going I am having fun.

Magnify, Casting on Beads

Clue #1 for Laura Nelkin's Magnify started a few hours before April 1st (at least for me.)  Tonight's quote is "2B, or not 2B? The question really is, which set am I on?".  I was placing #8 Seed beads on my fingering weight (Sock weight) yarn.  I was doing 2 of my A color, the 2 of my B color.  This totals 378 beads put on my yarn, and looks like this:

Now to start a provisional cast-on.  She wanted SC, but I prefer to cast onto the needle itself.
